I didn’t see it coming
He said it with a look
as if he thought I’d find
it funny
Was it really racist?
It sounded quite
disgusting
I thought him pretty cool
before
Now I no longer trust him
Maybe he was only joking
Quoting someone else
Maybe he was smoking
something
Not feeling himself
Maybe he was showing off
Perhaps he’s insecure
I’m trying to find excuses
For language that I abhor
If I told him what it
sounded like
Maybe he’d regret it
